How to get your first bank account number

There are methods to get your first bank account number and they include the following;

  • By using the bank ussd code
  • By using the bank mobile app
  • By using the bank internet banking platform
  • By contacting First Bank helpline
  • By visiting the bank

Let me explain these methods one after another.

1. By using the bank ussd code

This is one the fastest way to check account number on first and it works on any given phone as long as you have a cellular network service.

To check first bank account number using the ussd code, simply dial *894# and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you dial *894# Select the option that says Enquiry Service, and next is to select Account Number Enquiry.

Your account number will be sent to your phone number via SMS text messages.

Remember;

To check your first bank account number using the bank ussd code of *894# must be done on the phone number registered with the bank.

Phone number registered with the bank is the phone number you gave to the bank during account opening.

Also, checking your account number via USSD code attracts a fee of N6.98, and this applies to all banks in Nigeria.

2. By using the bank mobile app

This for me is the most convenient way to check your first bank account number, by using the bank mobile app.

This does not attract a fee as it only requires opening the bank app, logging in, and on the homepage, you will see your account number along with your account balance.

I mostly use this method to check my account number and account balance unless there’s a poor internet connection.

For this method, you must have an android phone or iPhone, then head over to Google Play Store or Apple appstore and download the app.

With your first bank debit card or token, you can enroll in FirstBank mobile banking.

To register your account won’t take up to 5 minutes to create your first bank mobile banking account.

Once you have created your account, log in and you will see your first bank account number on the homepage.

For this method;

  • It doesn’t attract a fee or charges to login and check your account number.
  • Works with an active internet connection.
  • Available only on Android and iOS.

3. By using the internet banking platform

Once you have enrolled for first bank mobile banking, you can use your login details for their internet banking platform.

However, it requires a token.

If you don’t have your first bank token, you can use the bank’s internet banking. So, you better get your token if you love using the bank’s internet banking platform.

With internet banking, you can easily check your First Bank account by simply logging into your internet banking account.

Right there on your screen or homepage, you will see your account number.

Remember, it requires an internet connection and doesn’t attract any fees or charges for logging in and checking your account number.

4. By contacting First Bank helpline

This is another way to check your account number, by contacting the bank’s helpline or sending an email to the bank.

For this method, the bank will need to ask you questions like your mother’s maiden name, your phone number, and the details of your last transaction.

First bank can be strict, so you better get prepared for their qualifications.

The bank helpline are as follows;

Tel: +234 708 062 5000, +234 1 448 5500, Email: FirstContact.Complaints@firstbankgroup

5. By visiting the bank

This is the last method to check your first bank account number by visiting any First Bank branch near your area.

They will need your ID to help retrieve your account number, and afterward, please try to save your account number somewhere on your phone or in a jotter.

How to get my first bank account number without atm card

To check or get first bank account number don’t require a debit card as long as you have registered for ussd code or mobile banking.

If you have not yet registered for the bank USSD code or mobile banking, the bank will require a debit card or token from you.

But to use an ATM card or debit card to check your account number? It doesn’t happen as long as you have registered for mobile banking or a USSD code.

I forgot my first bank account number

If you forgot your first bank account number, simply dial *894# on your phone using your registered first bank phone number. Your account number will be sent to you via sms text message.

Other methods include calling the helpline or sending an email.

First Bank usually replies to its emails, though it can take quite a long time before the bank replies to the message.

So it’s better to give them a call.

As long as you are a bank customer, please try to register for the bank USSD code and mobile banking app.

It is very essential and make things a lot easier for the bank customer.

For me, I always prefer to use the bank’s mobile app unless there’s a poor network connection or perhaps I don’t have cellular data at that very moment.

And this is where I round it up on today’s question of the day how to get my first bank account number, simply use the bank ussd code of *894# or the bank mobile app to get your account number.
