I believe you’re a student looking for how to open gtb student account online without a bvn, well that’s very much possible.

But the truth is that there are to this.

The reason I’m saying this is because there’s a limit to this type of account that may actually piss you off in the future.

If you’re up to 18 years old, you can open a Level 3 account instead of a student account, and this is what I usually recommend, especially as most Tier 3 accounts don’t require a minimum operating balance.

Since you’re a student, let me explain the way in which you can open a student account without using a Bank Verification Number.

Let’s proceed.

How to open gtb student account online without a bvn

How to open gtb student account online without a bvn

To open a student account online without a bvn, you have to contact the bank and request that you want to open a student account online.

To contact GTBank, you have to use their customer service phone number(s) and email address.

I always prefer using their email address, but lately, they have been very slow in replying to messages. In this type of situation, I would recommend that you give them a call.

Trust me, it doesn’t cost much.

When you call them, simply tell them that you want to open a GTBank student account and that you are unable to visit the bank.

Request that they assign an account officer to assist with this online via WhatsApp.

Certainly, the bank will do that for you.

Once they assign an account officer to you, all you need to do is request the account opening form, fill out the form, and send it back to the account officer via WhatsApp.

The bank has a form strictly for student accounts.

You will need a NIN ID to open your student account with gtbank.

Once you send the document along with your NIN ID to the account officer, a student account will be opened for you.

Within 48 hours, you should receive your account number.

Now the question is,

What are the requirements needed from you to open a student account with gtbank.

The requirements are as follows;

  1. A NIN.
  2. A BVN/NIN.
  3. A passport photograph.

Now listen, there are three types of gtbank student account and since you don’t have a bank verification number, you have to open what is called GTCrea8 eSavers level 1 account.

In this type of student account, you can use any of NIN or BVN to open your student bank account.

As long as you are a student in Nigeria, you should have your NIN ID.

If you do not have a NIN ID, then forget about opening a student account.

For a proper understanding, let me explain the types of GTBank student accounts and their requirements.

1. GTCrea8 eSavers Level 1 account

This type of gtbank student account requires any of NIN or BVN and a passport photograph for your documentation.

Since you do not have a BVN and would not want to enroll, this is the type of account you will have to open.

In this level 1 GTCrea8 eSavers account, you can only send or deposit N50,000 at once, and the maximum amount of money you can accumulate in the account is N300,000 respectively.

You can’t have more than N300,000 in this type of GTCrea8 eSavers account.

You can request a debit card (ATM card).

2. GTCrea8 eSavers Level 2 account

The requirements for this type of GTBank student account are a BVN or NIN, a school ID (school/ departmental/ association/ library card/ Biodata Page), and a utility bill.

If you open the GTCrea8 eSavers Level 2 account, you can receive or deposit ₦100,000 into the bank account.

The total amount of money you can have in the account is ₦500,000 and you cannot exceed that.

For cash withdrawals using the ATM, you have a maximum daily limit of ₦100,000 with GTCrea8 card.

3. GTCrea8 eSavers Level 3 account

This is the best GTBank student account I will recommend for you to open if you want to open a student account.

The requirements for this type of gtbank student account is a student ID, BVN and NIN and a Utility Bill.

For the GTCrea8 eSavers Level 3 account, the maximum amount of money you can receive or deposit into the account is ₦1,000,000 and GTCrea8 card with a ₦100,000 ATM limit.

Right now, I can’t really say for sure if the account has a maximum cumulative balance or perhaps an unlimited cumulative balance.

Do i recommend GTCrea8 eSavers level 3 account?

No, I don’t recommend the GTCrea8 eSavers Level 3 account.

Here’s my reason;

The gtbank GTCrea8 eSavers level 3 account requires a bvn and nin, an utility bill, and a student ID.

There’s no difference in requirements for opening a GTBank Level 3 or Tier 3 savings account, and a GTCrea8 eSavers Level 3 account.

For a GTBank Level 3 savings account, you will need the following;

  1. An utility bill.
  2. An ID like NIN, voter’s card, international passport, or driver’s license.
  3. A passport photograph.

For GTCrea8 eSavers account, you will need the followings;

  1. An utility bill.
  2. A student account.
  3. A NIN andBVN

For GTBank Level 3 savings account, you can receive or deposit up to ₦50 billion into the account.

The account is unlimited.

For GTCrea8 eSavers level 3 account, you can only receive or deposit ₦1 million into the account.

The GTCrea8 eSavers Level 3 account is limited, unlike the standard GTBank savings account.

Since you meet the requirements to open a standard GTBank Level 3 savings account, I don’t see the need to open a student account unless it’s for the benefits like no transfer charges to any bank, No SMS charges, Free debit card for GTCrea8 Level 2 and 3, etc.

Whereas, in a GTBank Level 3 savings account, there are transfer charges, the debit card is not free, and SMS charges are not free either.

And with all I have explained in this article, I come to the conclusion of today’s topic how to open gtb student account online without a bvn.

However, I recommend that you enroll for bvn and open a proper account because in the future, you will still need to enroll for bvn. The bank verification number in Nigeria is very compulsory or mandatory, so it’s better you get enrolled.
