So here we go with the question of the day, how to check bvn on gtbank. I will explain the various ways you can easily check your GTBank BVN even without visiting the bank.

Please note that once you obtain your BVN, it is advisable to save it somewhere on your mobile phone for future reference.

How to check bvn on gtbank

The ways to check bvn on gtbank includes the followings;

1. Through ussd code.
2. Through internet banking.
3. Through the bank customer service.
4. By visiting the bank.

These are the ways to check your bank verification number on GTB.

I’m sure you’re quite surprised I didn’t list the bank’s mobile app. Well, it’s because such a service is not available on the bank’s mobile app.

I will get to that later in this post.

1. Through ussd code

This is quite universal and not just applicable to GTB customers, and the best part is that it works on all phones.

Whether you’re using a feature phone, Android phone, or iPhone, it will work perfectly fine as long as there’s network service.

Mind you, it doesn’t require internet connection.

To check bvn on gtbank via ussd code, simply dial *565*0# on your mobile phone.

This will attract a ₦20 fee from your mobile network. If you don’t have up to ₦20 airtime on your SIM card, the code won’t work.

Mind you, this is a universal USSD code to check BVN on any network in Nigeria.

2. Through internet banking

Another way to check bvn on gtbank is via GTB internet banking.

Checking your bank verification number on GTB is quite easy via internet banking as long as you have an active internet connection on your device.

Remember, GTB internet banking works best on a computer compared to mobile phones or tablets.

For mobile phones, you have the gtbank mobile app called the Gtworld.

Please note that as long as you have enrolled for GTBank online banking via the bank’s mobile app, you can log in to GTBank internet banking using your mobile app login details.

Once you log into your GTBank internet banking account, right there on the home screen, you will see your BVN, as shown in the image below.

The truth is, you can’t just carry a laptop around just to have your BVN readily available.

Well, all you need to do is copy and save your BVN somewhere on your mobile phone.

Checking your bank verification number on gtbank via the bank’s internet banking page doesn’t cost a dime, except for internet and data charges.

3. Through the bank customer service

For this method, you don’t have to go to the bank to check your bank verification number; instead, you can simply call the bank’s customer service.

Every bank has customer service number(s) that are available to its customers, especially during working hours.

For GTBANK, its customer service numbers are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

You can call them to check your BVN. However, they will ask you some questions to ensure that you are the account owner.

But on some occasions, they won’t issue the BVN to you but will request that you go to the bank.

This is where an account officer comes in handy.

If you have your account officer’s phone number, chat with the person on WhatsApp and request your BVN.

If you’re very close to your account officer, the person will give you your BVN without verification.

However, if you’re not known to your account officer, you will be asked lots of questions to verify that you’re the account owner.

4. By visiting the bank

By visiting the bank requires you to go your bank and request for your bank verification number.

You can go to any of your banks, not just the bank you enrolled for BVN.

How to check my bvn on gtbank mobile app

So far, you cannot check BVN on the GTBank mobile app or GTWorld app.

Quite surprising, and I can’t seem to understand why the bank didn’t add the feature to its mobile app.

I checked and couldn’t see the option, so I contacted my account officer. He confirmed that you can use the USSD code or internet banking.

For now, you cannot check BVN on GTBank on the bank’s mobile app. Maybe later in the future, they will update their app and add the service to it.

The truth is that the GTBank mobile app or GTWorld app is very poor and lacks banking features compared to other bank mobile apps.

To check bvn via sms

So far, you cannot verify your Bank Verification Number (BVN) via SMS except for the USSD code.

The USSD code is very reliable and fast unless there is a poor network connection in your area.

Once you dial *565*0# on your mobile phone, your bank verification number will be displayed on your screen.

How to check bvn on gtbank online

To check BVN on GTBank online, simply use the bank’s internet banking page to check your bank verification number.

Remember, you must log in using your online banking login details as I explained above.

For the bank’s mobile app, checking of BVN via the bank app is not yet available as of the time of writing this post. You only have internet banking as the sole option to check BVN on GTBank online.
