There are lots of features packed in Access bank mobile banking and it is left for you to enroll and enjoy all the features other than going to the bank for any banking services.
Like I said before, when you hear Access bank mobile banking, this mostly involve the bank mobile app, but it also includes the bank ussd code.
So I will explain the two on how you can get started.
Don’t Miss: Gtbank Mobile Banking: Everything Explained
The ussd code
This particular Access bank mobile banking requires you to perform some basic banking services or transactions right on your phone without requiring internet connection.
This means that it is an offline type of mobile banking.
But, it has lots of limit.
I fancy using the bank ussd code if you want to make a small transaction or money transfer, check your account balance or bvn, buy airtime and data, or block your atm or bank account.
If you want to enjoy all the features of the bank mobile banking, then you need to use the access bank mobile app.
That is the real mobile banking.
But nevertheless, the bank ussd code is very essential and useful.
To get started;
- You must use the sim card you used in opening your access bank account.
- It doesn’t require an atm card.
- You must have a phone and active network service on your phone.
Once you have the requirements ready, all you need to do is to dial *901# on your phone.
Once you have done that, you have to select the option to register as it is your very first time.
It’s so simply and easy, all you need to do is to follow the on-screen instruction to enroll with the bank ussd code.
I have already enrolled few years ago and if not I would have provides you with a step by step guide as the bank seemed to always make changes to their ussd code.
So kindly follow the on-screen instructions and you will get everything set and ready.
Remember, you will have to provide a transaction pin which is used to finalize every transaction made.
If you are the type that easily forgets, I recommend you to use your atm card pin for the ussd code pin because once you forget your pin, you will need to go to the bank to make the necessary changes.
Also note that access bank ussd code doesn’t require the use of atm card or token hardware just like in any other banks in Nigeria.
However, I prefer the use of atm card or token hardware as it add extra security to the ussd code.
Once you have enrolled with the bank ussd code, you are good to go.
Some of the services that are featured in the access bank ussd code includes the following;
- Check Balance
- Transfers
- Airtime
- Buy Data
- Pay Bills
- Enquiry Services
- Diamond Xtra
- Access Money
- Mobile Wallet
- AccessPay
- Payday Loans
- Reset PIN
- Cardless Withdrawal
- Referral Scheme
- Update Info
- Opt Out
- PayAttitude
- Block Account
So these are the features you will get when using Access Bank ussd code for your banking services.
The services you will see in the ussd code is not entirely different from the bank mobile app, just thsr you will see extra features and the limits are quite high compared to the ussd code.
For Example.
If you want to transfer money from your access bank account using the bank ussd code, you are restricted to 20k per a transfer if you don’t have a debit card, and a maximum of 100k with a debit card.
You can’t transfer up to a million naira without a token, whilst you can transfer up to 5 million naira using the bank mobile app without a token.
This is the limit I’m talking about.
You can’t contact access bank using the ussd code, but that is pretty much possible and easy using the bank mobile app.
USD transfer is not available on ussd code except for internet banking and the Access bank mobile banking app.
If you want to enjoy Access bank mobile banking services, you should use both the ussd code and the bank mobile app.
Access bank mobile app
This is another type of access bank mobile banking which make use of the bank mobile app.
As long as we are talking about access bank mobile app, it requires an internet connection, and only work on ios and android.
It is not available on feature or classic phones.
To get started with access bank mobile app, you must register your account for the Mobile banking and it is quite different from the bank ussd code.
All you need to do download and install Access More app for Android from the Google play store or from the IOS App Store.
Once you have done that, you’re now set on using access bank mobile app for your mobile banking.
What follows next is the registration.
How to register for access bank mobile app?
To register for Access bank mobile app, you need to use your account number, face id or debit card to register for the bank mobile banking.
Here’s the best part I love about Access bank mobile app banking, you can enroll without using or having an atm card or probably a debit card.
All thanks to face id.
When you open the app, you need to specify that you have already had an account with the bank and you want to sign up or register for Access bank mobile banking.
Tap on the option to register and the very first thing to do is to enter your account number.
After that the bank will send an authentication code to your phone number registered with the bank, please don’t share the code with anyone as the code is very confidential.
You will have to enter the code and proceed to the next step.
Next step is to create a username and password for your Access bank mobile banking app.
Please be very careful and remember to enter a password that you will remember in the feature though you can use your fingerprint to sign into the app other than using a username and password.
Next is to verify your application and the bank will require two methods of verification, one is by using a face id, while the other is by using your debit card (atm card).
For me, I prefer to use the Face ID as it is lot faster and for those that are yet to get the access bank atm card.
So you have to select your preferred option and it will process the verification.
Once the verification has been confirmed, you can then create your access bank mobile app pin for transaction.
Once again you can use your debit card pin for easy remembrance or any four digit code that you will remember and not forget. Please this is very essential so be very careful and don’t share your pin and login details or information with anyone around you.
Once you have created the pin for your access bank mobile app or Access bank mobile banking, you’re set and ready to use the bank app.
When you open the app and login, below is how the homepage will look like as at the time of writing this post.
The homepage is quite different from some other banks I’ve seen as it didn’t show the account number and the account balance right on the homepage.
As a first time user, this is what you will be expecting especially if you have been using zenith bank, gtbank, first bank, uba mobile app.
The access bank mobile app is very different when it comes to displaying of number and account balance as you will only see the person’s first name.
Let me show you how you can access and check your access bank account balance using the bank mobile app.
Checking of account balance
To check your account balance using the access bank mobile app, all you have to do is to tap on transaction history and you will see your account balance.
If you have multiple bank accounts with access bank like a corporate account or a domiciliary account, you have to slide on where the first account number you’re seeing, to see more accounts you have with the bank.
Money transfer
For money transfer you will see two main options which are access transfers and other banks transfers as shown in the picture below.
If you want to transfer money to someone using Access bank, then you will have to select Access transfers.
But, if you want to transfer money to someone not using Access bank, then you will have to select Other banks transfers.
When you do that, you can proceed with the transfer as there’s no big deal in transferring money using the access bank mobile app.
Kindly follow the onscreen instructions and you’re good to go.
Buy airtime and data
To buy airtime and data right from your access bank account is very easy and convenient as long as you have enrolled with Access bank mobile banking.
All you have to do is to open the bank app, sign in and right there on the homepage you will see mobile top up and data purchase as shown in the picture below.
Anyone you want to buy, kindly tap on any of them and proceed with the airtime purchase or data purchase.
Same goes with bill payments and others.
Simply explore the app for more features.
Checking of bvn
You can easily check you bvn right from the access bank mobile app.
All you need to do is to open the app, sign in and tap on the profile tab.
On the next page, below your name tap on Details as shown below.
It will display your details which includes your bvn. Below is a typical example of what I’m talking about though I had to hide my personal bank informations.
Contact the bank/Account officer
With access bank mobile app, and you can contact the bank or being able to know your account officer name.
All you need to do is to open the app, sign in and tap on the Support tab as shown in the picture below.
If you tap on the Support tab, you will see Account officer along with other options on the next page.
Tap on Account Officer, and you will see the name of your account officer along with options to contact the bank or change your account officer.
There are lots of banking services you will see in the access bank mobile app, so it is left for to open and explore the app.
